About Us

Our Story

Advocacy services have a long and meaningful history in Valley County, and Rise Up 2 Thrive was built on that foundation. Launched on October 1, 2022, RU2T offers comprehensive, confidential and no-cost-to client wrap-around support and services. RU2T walks alongside survivors and strengthens safety and support in our community.

Rise Up 2 Thrive began humbly, operating out of a small space in Donnelly, driven by a clear and urgent need. Every day, survivors of intimate partner violence are forced to make an unimaginable choice: stay in danger or leave everything behind with nowhere safe to go. Too often, the lack of stable, secure housing pushes survivors and their children back into cycles of crisis and harm.

With the dedication of countless community members, partners, and local business owners, that reality began to change. What was once an unoccupied building was transformed into a warm, welcoming, and trauma-informed space now known as The Brave Space. In November 2023, Rise Up 2 Thrive proudly opened the doors to this community sanctuary in Cascade, Idaho.

The Brave Space is more than a building. It is a place of refuge and possibility—a haven where survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking, along with their children, can find safety, stability, and the support needed to begin again. In March 2026, RU2T purchased The Brave Space building, securing our permanent space in the community.

Having grown up in Horseshoe Bend, I know first-hand about the lack of victim services and resources available in small communities. My sister was a victim of domestic violence, and after she was released from the hospital, I escorted her to the courthouse to file for a divorce. Not everyone has family support, and RU2T provides much needed help and assistance to people in our community.

The reason I became involved with Rise Up 2 Thrive is due to it being a vital part of our community. RU2T provides services to people when they need them the most. I am honored to have the opportunity to work with such an incredible and rewarding organization. I want to help within our community where there is a need. This is extremely near and dear to my heart that I will provide as much help as I can to serve this cause.

I am committed to creating a community where everyone is in safe, healthy and thriving relationships. I show up in service to RU2T’s mission, ensuring that our fellow community members have access to essential resources and support in the face of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking. There is so much that we can accomplish together, as a community, that none of us can on our own.
